About

Your A-Levels aren't a straight line to your future.

My Story

Hello, my name is Immanuella Okoli. For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be a doctor, and that passion grew through school as I fell in love with science. That led me to take Biology, Chemistry and Economics at A Level.

As I got further into sixth form, I realised medicine wasn't the path for me anymore. The problem i encountered was, once I stepped away from that plan, I had no idea what else was out there for me. My subject choices seemed to point in two directions, either Biomedical Sciences or Pharmacy. What I didnt know is that my A Levels had actually equipped me with skills that go far beyond those two paths.

That gap, between knowing I didn’t want Medicine and knowing what I did want, is where the idea for More Than Med came from.

Why More Than Med Exists

For many science students in the UK, studying subjects like Biology, Chemistry and Maths can make it feel like your options are limited to Medicine, Biomedical Sciences or other traditional science degrees. It is important to remember that your A Levels have given you far more than subject knowledge. They’ve built transferable skills like problem-solving, analytical thinking, data interpretation and critical thinking. These skills are valued across a huge range of degrees, industries and careers.

More Than Med exists to help students recognise these possibilities, explore different paths and realise that their future doesn’t have to be defined by the subjects they studied at 16 or 18.

There is more out there. I’m here to help you find it.

Our mission

To make sure every science student in the UK knows about all the options available to them. To create an environment where they feel comfortable asking questions, exploring paths and choosing a future that genuinely fits them.

Our values

No gatekeeping

Knowledge is better when it's shared. We believe students shouldn't have to know the “right” people to access advice, opportunities or insight.

No limits

Medicine or biomedical sciences aren't the only path for science students. We want students to see the possibilities beyond what's directly in front of them.

No doing it alone

Real advice from real students. University is easier to navigate when you can learn from people who have actually experienced it.
